A Victoria Holiday

December can feel like a never end list of to-dos. We’re finishing up work for the year, attending Christmas gatherings and coordinating with family. Escaping the holiday hustle and bustle for a brief moment was exactly what Jonathon and I needed. Our destination was the Magnolia Hotel, located in Victoria, BC. A weekend getaway in this quaint town and the boutique hotel experience was the perfect early Christmas present.

As soon as we checked in, Cee and I changed into the plush robes and relaxed for a moment before setting out to explore Victoria with our guys. The curated tour maps put together by the hotel made venturing around so much fun. They had highlighted everything from a craft brewery tour, to bike trails, to the best restaurants and shopping. The English style architecture and historic landmarks makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Even though we were just a few miles from home, it truly felt like we were on vacation.

From the mints on our pillow with the turn down service to the hot apple cider in the lobby each evening, the Magnolia Hotel knows how to create the experience in all little moments. Having a Nespresso machine in our room was one of those lovely details, especially when the staff delivered bailey, marshmallows and hot chocolate mix. What better way to spend a winter evening than sitting by the fire with good friends, and good drinks!

Our stay flew by way to quickly, making us all wish we could sit by the fire just a little bit longer. Alas, back to reality and the Christmas to do list. Although my list seems much more manageable after our relaxing island getaway.
Thank you to the team at The Magnolia Hotel and Spa for a wonderful weekend.

  • What a beautiful stay + relaxing vacation! Martin & I love hotel life and we often visit the Chateau Fairmont for long weekends. I’m all about the spa, robe and wine time! Can’t wait to visit the Magnolia next time I stay in Victoria!! xo
