Danish model turned fashion designer Anine Bing opened her New York retail location this February. We attended the launch event at her store located in West Village on Bleecker Street. The space perfectly reflects of Anine’s aesthetic; A chic, rock & roll bohemian vibe with a minimalist’s approach. This is Anine’s second retail location, after her flagship store located in LA.
It was a beautiful evening hosted by Anine and her team. The store features Anine’s ready-to-wear, lingerie, handbags, shoes, sunglasses and fine jewelry collection. Guests included fashionistas Louise Roe, Sofi Farman, Pernille Teisbaek and Camille Charriere.
The store is a minimalist’s dream; An all white space with white marble, black, gold accents. We love the feature wall at the back of the store showcasing ANINE BING sunglasses and accessories, along with a gold Buddha, white roses, and a delicious smelling Baies Diptique candle.
The Los Angeles based brand is trans-seasonal and new items are constantly added to the collection. ANINE BING was launched in June 2012 and the eponymous label has been well received and sold with great success globally. The pieces are made with the most luxurious fabrics and details, manufactured in the US and in Europe to ensure the highest quality.
Anine is a very successful blogger, with a large following on social media. This played a major role in the rapid success of her fashion brand. It started as an online store and the brand quickly grew in part to Anine’s following on instagram, and her popular blog ‘Anine’s World.’
“It started about 5 years ago. I didn’t want to model forever and I’ve always been a very creative person. I got into music, collaborated with other designers, jewelry brands, kids lines and other companies. This was all really well received. That’s when I first started to think about creating my own collection. The ANINE BING collection began two years ago when I was trying to find the perfect pair of jeans. I had 10 pairs of jeans in my closet but I never found the pair that fit me perfectly. That started to wake up that little idea in my head.” – Anine Bing
“I’m so proud to open our first New York store – this is a milestone I’ve been dreaming of since I first launched the brand. It is amazing to share this evening with so many of my friends in the industry”. – Anine Bing
