Backstage at Banana Republic

banana-republicWe were invited backstage by Stila Cosmetics to chat with make up artist Sarah Lucero backstage at Banana Republic before their Spring 2017 presentation. It’s always a treat going backstage to see the behind the scenes of a show, but this experience was a particularly enjoyable. Not only was backstage spacious and airy (a rarity backstage at fashion week) but Sarah also demoed the make up look on me, giving me a little make up touch up before the presentation. And who doesn’t need that? Thanks Sarah!

The make up look was called Modern Simplicity. Sarah wanted to enhance the model’s natural beauty by creating a fresh face look. Using Aqua Glow Perfecting Glow Bronzer combined with Stay All Day foundation Sarah created a pretty bronzed complection, and completed the look with a touch of Lush Lips Water Plumping Primer.
banana-1After seeing a few of the items backstage, we were excited to see the collection come together. The set consisted of wooden stage in middle of the room where the models stood, while guests moved around the presentation. We enjoyed a glass of champagne while walking around to view the various garments. The oversize gingham print coat was my favourite!

Banana Republic has continued its buy-now-wear-now initiative from last season, where key pieces are available for purchase immediately. What made these picks unique was their new brand ambassador, Olivia Palermo. Olivia’s picked out her favourite items, and these curated pieces were for purchase online, as well as at the Flatiron store location. As you can imagine, the pieces sold out pretty quickly, but the complete collection will be available in store early Spring.screen-shot-2016-10-05-at-9-36-05-pm
