While in New York, we were invited to visit Coach’s showroom to view the Fall 2015 collection. Located at 510 West 34th Street, the beautiful space showcased the clothes, shoes and accessories that were presented on the runway earlier in the week.
The 74 year old company is well known for their accessories. Last February, Coach debuted their first ready to wear collection at fashion week under the guidance of British designer Stuart Vevers. For his third collection for Coach, Vevers was inspired by a journey across America that combined the sub-cultures of music, skate and surf. The collection bridged the gap between streetwear and luxury, taking style notes from the spirit of New York.
The collection had a rock and roll vibe, featuring graphic prints, metal pins, leather and plaid. The pieces were said to be an exploration of the tension between toughness, utility and luxury. Jackets featured script text written across the back spelling out the key words of the collection: Wanted, Nomad and Lucky.
We loved the use of shearling throughout the collection. The cozy coats and combat boot would of been perfect to brave the frigid temperatures in New York. But, we’ll have to wait until next Fall to take advantage of these gorgeous pieces.
