The ultimate wedding showcase Creme de la Creme is taking place this Sunday at the Four Season’s hotel in Vancouver. Celebrating it’s 11th year, Creme de la Creme brings together the best in Vancouver’s bridal industry for brides to be to meet, greet and experience.
From caterers and photographers, to beauty experts and entertainment, Creme de la Creme is the perfect place to plan your dream wedding.
Principal Planner of CountDown Events and founder of the Creme de la Creme showcase, Soha Lavin continues to set the bar for elegant and memorable wedding. We caught up with Soha before this weekend’s events to learn more about this spectacular bridal showcase.
What inspired you to create the Crème de la Crème showcase?
I wanted to create a platform for the incredible artisans in the city to present their art all the while creating an atmosphere for the stylish bride to really enjoy the planning of her wedding. Congratulations on 11 years. How has the event evolved over the years?
I am incredibly grateful to the talented group of people that come together every year to make my vision a reality and try and surpass the previous year’s designs (let me tell you it is not an easy task)
What can guests of Crème de la Crème expect to experience this year?
The best of the best under one roof, delectable tastings, gorgeous and inspiring designs and a fabulous fashion show! A really fun experience for your entire wedding party.
The runway show will feature gowns from designers including Elie Saab, Jenny Packham, Monique Lhuillier, and Pronovias Atelier Bridal and more from Bisou Bridal and Cachè Couture Atelier. What is your favourite thing about being a wedding planner?
This list is long! I love my job! It is actually not a job…it is my lifestyle. I think and breath this stuff! I love the fact that I get to work on a project from conception to fruition. The fact that every year, inspired by something new, I get to try new things, new ways of doing things. I love that I get to push the envelope. I love flowers and pretty things and absolutely adore that I am surrounded by it all. I love that I get to say that I work hard at doing something I love…I love this job! What is your best piece of advice for Brides to Be on their big day?
The sheer emotional state on your wedding is somewhat overwhelming let alone all of the people and the details so no matter what happens or what day looks like try and steal mini moments to be present and take it all in. It would also be lovely to just step away even for two minutes with your love to share a giggle or a kiss or a tear of joy…just for the two of you.
And if you want to have a stress-free day – hire a professional AND experienced Wedding Planner. What are wedding no-no’s in your book?
Couples trying to recreate someone else’s wedding instead of taking the time to find out their own personal style. That’s where we come in; at CountDown Events we don’t do the same thing twice…sure be inspired but create your own mark!
