It’s the season to wear sequins and sparkles, but sometimes you just want to dress cozy. The Fair Isle sweater is the perfect Holiday knit, but not the kind you wear to the Ugly Christmas sweater party!
I love this style. It’s a classic, especially around Christmas time. The name Fair Isle refers to the location the sweater originates from. Fair Isle is an island near Scotland within the Shetland Islands. It features a small recurring pattern that go in a line, often placed on the sweater like a bertha collar (round, around the neck.) This one is an extended bertha pattern with geometric shapes, in a beautiful neutral beige, grey and white knit.
Headbands are such a great accessory of the season. I’ve always loved the look of a headband, and have purchased a few over the last few months. They’re so fun! This pearl detail and black velvet headband (or Alice Band as I called it) adds a regal element to any look. I found this one (as well as the sweater) at H&M.
Whether you choose to wear sequins or sweaters this Holiday season, I hope it’s a Merry good time!
