Paris is always a good idea. It sounds cliché, but it’s true! Since returning from Europe, I’ve slowly been making my way through all the dreamy images we took, and the ones we captured in Paris are some of my favourite. I had visited Paris before, but it had been years and I was so happy to be back, especially with Jonathon. Since it’s Valentine’s week, I thought it was the perfect time to share our first set of photos from the City of Love.We took these photos early one morning as the fog floated over Paris. The light was luminous, and I had fun posing at this iconic location. After capturing the Eiffel Tower in the morning haze, we made our way to Musée d’Orsay. If you only visit one gallery in Paris, go to Musée d’Orsay. The gallery is home to so many incredible pieces, including an entire wing of Impressionists, Van Gogh and Art Nouveau. It also featured this incredible roman numeral clock, which you simply have to take a photo in front of. Half way through our tour of the gallery, we stopped by one of the restaurants for a cafe au lait and a delicious piece of carrot cake. When in Paris, always stop for coffee and cake! There is a romance about this city, but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, especially if you don’t speak the language. There is so much to see and do, but the best way to experience Paris is slowly. This is advice I received from Anthony Bourdain’s Paris Layover episode. Advice that was quickly confirmed by my dear friend Cee who’s lived in Paris. Eat the croissants, drink the coffee, order the house white wine with lunch. Enjoy the je ne sais quoi about Parisian life. There is never enough time in a city like Paris, so slow down, enjoy the moment and take lots of photos along the way.
