Happy 2017! A New Year has arrived and after a relaxing Holiday in Whistler, I’m excited to be back in the city, ready to take on January. Spending time in the mountains is always so relaxing. This Christmas we had one of the biggest snow falls I have ever seen! This made for epic snow adventure and lots of snowy pictures.
Let it snow
One of my favourite outdoor activities is snow shoeing. I ski every now and then, but snowshoeing is such an easy way to get out on the mountain, no matter your skill level. On some days we’d go for walks along the lake, other days we’d go hiking up the Callaghan Valley. It’s such a fun way to enjoy the incredible scenery.Keeping Cozy
It was so wonderful to have a whole week to spend with my sister, (who flew in from Toronto) my parents, Jonathon and of course our pup Madison. We’ve been spending Christmas in Whistler since my family moved from South Africa 14 years ago. Like every Christmas, we spent time chilling in our pjs, making delicious food, watching movies and venturing out in the snow.Chill the wine, Whistler style
What better was to chill your booze when you’re in the mountains?! Whenever there’s a fresh snowfall in Whistler, I put our champagne and wine in the snow to cool down. This bottle of Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc was a big hit around our dinner table. Isn’t it pretty?Grey Glitter Manicure
If you follow me on instagram, you know I love having glitter nails over the Holidays. For my last sparkly manicure of the season, I went for this grey and sliver glitter combo. The light grey is the perfect for shade for winter.
I love adding a few special new ornaments to our collection every Christmas. My two favourites this year were the pink Christmas tree and bear in a pink sweater. Both are from The Cross Decor and Design.
Having time at home to relax and regroup after Whistler was the perfect way to rest, relax, and get ready for 2017. Happy New Years to you! I look forward to sharing more stories and great content with you in 2017.
