Can you believe it’s Christmas this week already? I’m officially on vacation and I couldn’t be more excited to finish my Holiday to do less, and enjoy some down time with my family at our home in beautiful snowy Whistler.
I’m happy to say, I completed my gift shopping this weekend (Nothing kills your Holiday spirit quicker than fighting your way through the mall a few days before Christmas.) We have family back in Ontario, and the cut off date for sending parcels at the regular price creeps up very quickly (10 December!) so we always try to get a jump on this early. It’s such a relief to have this completed. If you’re still on the hunt for the perfect gift, check out my Gift Guides for Her, Him, The Hostess and The Beauty Queen.
The other reason I like to get my gifts early is because one of my favourite things to do during Christmas season is wrapping all the presents! I love picking out a pretty wrapping paper, matching the ribbon and adding personal touches. While I was up in Whistler with my friend Cee from Coco and Vera we spent some time doing exactly that. Wrapping presents, eating sugar cookies and drinking lots of coffee (with Baileys!) I find this such a fun and relaxing activity, creating beautifully wrapped parcels containing well thought our gifts for your loved ones.
My theme this year is gold, white, and neutral colour tones. I like to use a mix of different prints and patterns. It’s nice to have a variety of paper; I’m constantly adding more to my wrapping paper collection. My favourite at the moment are the gold on gold dot and the white and grey wood grain – perfect for Christmas at the cabin in Whistler.
After wrapping my presents, I like adding a 3D item like a pine cone or tree ornament for the perfect finishing touch. I usually get pine cones and give them a light dusting of gold spray paint before glueing or tying them to the presents.
Adding a little sweet treat to your gift is always well received. I usually like to give my friends sugar cookies, or festively wrapped chocolates. How cute is the packaging on these Ferrero Rochers? This little gold box is perfect to add to your present, you don’t even need to wrap it!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you take time to relax with your family, eat delicious food and enjoy the Holiday spirit.
