The start to August was an absolute, wonderful whirlwind. I was invited to New York on press trip with beauty brand EOS for the launch of their latest lip balm, EOS Crystal. I hopped on a redeye flight along with four other bloggers friends for an overnight adventure to the Big Apple. I was so excited to get back to Manhattan, even if just for a New York Minute.Once we landed at JFK, we were whisked into the city by a car service. As the skyline appeared, I quickly felt my sleepiness subside. New York has an incredible energy that immediately wakes you up! I was traveling with fellow style bloggers, Samantha, Alicia, Sydney and Cee. My blogger bestie Cee has recently moved away from Vancouver, so it was so fun to have a reunion on top of an already exciting trip.
We stayed at the beautiful boutique hotel, The Ludlow located in one of my favourite neighbourhoods, Lower East Side. On our last trip to New York, we stayed in an Air BNB just around the corner. I completely fell in love with the vibe and grit of the L.E.S. It boasts amazing restaurants, cafes, shops and is close to another favourite neighbourhood, Soho.
This hotel is a blogger dream! Big white fluffy bed, a marble and gold bathroom and killer views of the city. There is also a new Drybar located right across the street from The Ludlow Hotel. I’m such a big fan of Alli Webb’s blow dry spots and wish I had time to visit! We ordered up room service (one of the best avocado toasts I’ve ever had) before heading to the Meat Packing District for the EOS Crystal launch event. The event was hosted in this beautiful, all white industrial space. We were greeted by the team with a glass of champagne, before walking through the showcase of the various EOS products. The new Crystal lip balms have just debuted and they’re sure to be a hit with EOS’ huge fan base. How cool are the new spheres? The completely clear formula is a blend of five nourishing natural oils without any wax products. Stay tuned for my interview with the brand next week.
After the event, we wandered down to Soho. A pretty, instagramable coffee, well in this case, matcha was in order. Cha Cha Matcha is the super cute pink and palm tree printed matcha bar, located on Broome Street. Their coconut matcha drinks are just as delicious as they are photogenic. We made it just in time before they shut for the day, so we sat on their patio and enjoyed our beverages before dinner.
Nomo in Soho is a restaurant I’ve walked by many times before, but never dined in. The arch entrance leads into a beautiful glass ceiling room with incredible artwork displayed throughout the hotel lobby. We sat at a long table, and enjoyed rosé and family style dinner. The food was delicious, and it was so lovely to chat with the handful of other Canadian bloggers in town for the event.
After a very full day, I put on the cozy white robe and collapsed into bed. I was happy we had the next day in the city to soak up as much as we could before flying home. Style photos, brunch and all the instagram friendly spots we could fit in were on the agenda. Day 2 was so much fun, and I can’t wait to share more of our New York adventure later this week!
Thank you to the team at EOS and Faulhaber for a fantastic trip
