A highlight on the calendar for all West Coast beauty bloggers is the annual #LDBeauty event. Hosted by London Drugs, we were invited to meet and greet with some of the best drugstore beauty brands, and get a sneak peek of what will be available in the Fall.
At the event, I heard guests exclaim ‘This is like Christmas morning!’ And it’s true. Each brand gifts us product to test, review and share. I’ve been slowly working my way through the incredible collection and have found some true gems I’m excited to share with you!
Essie has just launched Gel Couture. How cute are the new bottles?! It’s designed to mimic the twist and twirl of a dress, as is the stem of the brush. When you open the bottle, you’ll notice it is also twisted, guiding any extra polish down onto the brush, which is also wider than their regular brushes. The polish is a gel, and can last up to 14 days and is available in a variety of colours.
The latest polish from Sally Hansen, Color Therapy contains argan oil. The formula fuses intensive nourishment and instant moisture, helping your nails become healthier. It lasts up to 10 days, is fade proof and chip resistant. I love shellac manicures, but it can be hard on your nails. Having a nail polish to nourish my nails while I take a break from the gel polish is fantastic.
We received a rainbow of mascaras from Annabelle Cosmetics. If you are purchasing a drugstore mascara, I would highly recommend trying Annabelle. It’s cheap and cheerful, with a wand for every need. I particularly liked the Big Show mascara, as well as the Custom Volume with an expandable brush. You’re able to customize the wand to your eyelash needs. So clever!
I couldn’t believe the excellent price point on Revolution’s palettes. The diverse range features pearl, shimmer and matte shadows with high impact pigment. These will be the perfect stocking stuffers for the Holidays as there is a palette for everyone. The pink palette pictured above is so pretty in person. Look at that shimmer!
Created in LA in 1999 from the vision of professional make up artist Toni Ko, NYX has grown to become a major cosmetics brand, with over 2000 products in the collection. NYX is known for their bright, unique colours and excellent price point. Their ‘Sweet Spring’ blush palette immediately caught my eye. It’s an ombre blush, featuring two colours blended into one delightful pink combo.
This contour palette features three blendable shades; the darker shade for defining, and the lighter shades for sculpting and enhancing features. The palette comes with its own contour brush, perfect to pop in your purse for on the go touch ups.
Canadian brand Neostrata creates clinically proven skincare products, made to suit every customer’s needs. I particularly loved their All-in-One Cleansing milk and their CliniDerm soothing cream. Celebrating 25 years of skin care innovation this year, Neostrata has become a trusted skincare company worldwide.
