Leaving on a Jet Plane

travel-1Travelling in style – something we all strive for, but proves to be rather difficult most of the time! For this trip, we took a red eye to New York (we always do, Cathay Pacific is the only way to get to NY from Vancouver.) Although this flight is truly fantastic; excellent service, comfy seats and personal TVs full of movie, it’s hard to arrive at your destination after an overnight flight without looking slightly disheveled!

We’ve had a lot of conversations about what to pack for this trip as fashion week outfits are admittedly not very practical. For our plane ride though, I wanted to wear something comfortable but still put together. We arrived very early in Manhattan and wouldn’t be able to check in to our hotel room til the afternoon. To make sure I was fully prepared, I packed my Herschel carry on with all the essentials to change into once we arrived in New York. Face wipes, travel size makeup and a fresh change of clothes made all the difference after an overnight flight.

We spent our first day in the city walking around Soho, before heading out to a Yankees game, which was SO much fun. AND, the perfect way to stay awake a kill off any jet lag. Once we checked into our hotel I was so happy not to dig through big my suitcase to find what to wear. New York hotels are small so only having to unpack my carry on was so much simpler.

I probably won’t look this put together on the trip home, but hey, I have lots of time to wear cute outfits while we’re in New York!travel-2
