New York is arguably one of the most instagramable places in the world. Around every corner is something new to see, and capture. The art, culture, architecture and food – talk to anyone who’s been and they’ll tell you how New York City is a sensory overload.
Whenever I travel, I love using instagram to discover new places to visit. On our last trip to New York we were there for 2 weeks, and we saw something new and exciting every day. Each time I visit the city, my instagram must see list grows. I could go on and on! From the cutest coffee shops to the best places to capture city views, be sure to save these locarions for your next trip to the Big Apple.
One of my favourite places for brunch, Egg Shop makes the best avocado toast in the city (in my opinion, and I’ve sampled a lot!) From the cute menus to the quirky salt and pepper shakers, this place is so darling, and very instagram friendly.
Jack’s Wife Freda
Another gem – I’m sure you’ve seen the cute sugar packettes with text like ‘Hello My Sweet.” This place isn’t just good for instagramming, the food is fantastic too. Just be sure to go early as its very popular. The Carmine street location is my favourite as its a bit bigger and will probably have slightly less of a wait.
Top of the Rock
For the most incredible views of the city, Top of the Rock is the place to go. My favourite time to visit is in the late afternoon so you can see the sunset over Manhattan. You will have a set time to arrive, but you can stay up top for a long as you like. A truly magical way to take in the city.
Times Square is the most geo-tagged location in the world! Not a place I usually stay for too long, but fun to experience (and photograph) if its your first time in the city. Perfect for insta stories!
By Chloe caught my eye with this super fun ‘You Batter Believe It!’ neon sign. Great coffee and really good food, located in one of the most charming areas of the city, The West Village. I love this part of the city as its much calmer, and filled with beautiful boutiques and lots of cute cafes.
Swedish Candy – need I say more? This all white interior candy store is not only pretty, but the candy is so yummy. If you haven’t experienced Swedish candy, you’re missing out! For my Vancouver friends, Karameller in Yaletown is your go to spot (and very insta friendly too!)
New York Public Library
Marble Heaven! The NYPL was on the top of our list for taking outfit photos. The white marble and beautiful architecture makes this place feel like a little oasis within the bustling city. Bryant Park is located right next door. Grab a coffee, sit on the stairs and watch the city go by.
The Brooklyn Bridge
Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge is a must when you’re in New York. Go early to avoid the crowds, although you can go any time of the day. I try to do this every time I’m in New York and it never get old. We usually walk into Brooklyn Heights for brunch, an area where my aunt and uncle lived for years. It’s such a charming part of the city. When I picture what ‘Old New York’ looked like, its Brooklyn Heights. Trust me, you must go see it for yourself! Keep an eye out for Height Cafe, my favourite place to grab a bite and enjoy the patio.
Cha Cha Matcha
An all pink and palm trees interior with the cutest cups?! Obviously Cha Cha Match is a must! I found this spot via instagram while in New York and immediately added it to our list. Located in Soho, this cute spot serves delicious Matcha inspired drinks, as well as really good coffee. Worth it for the cute cup photo alone!Do you have a favourite NYC spot I should add to my list?
