And just like that, the Holidays are upon us. The cooler temperatures have set in, and most of our schedules are crazy busy with work, friends and engagements. I love this time of year. Even though it can be a bit hectic, I’m ready to end 2018 strong, before taking a break to celebrate the season.
It was so wonderful to spend all of Autumn in Vancouver (other than the occasional trip home to Whistler.) It’s such a beautiful time of year in the city, and I’ve been able to work on some really great projects. One of the things I’m really excited about is an article I wrote for VITA Magazine’s November issue. VITA is a print publication sent out in the Globe & Mail. It can also be found in their newspaper boxes on Alberni Street aka Vancouver’s Luxury Row. The feature is about fashion emporium, Jonathan + Olivia that has recently relocated from Toronto to Whistler. A few weeks ago, I stopped by the boutique to check out the space and view their new designer collections, all ready for ski season.
JONATHAN + OLIVIA
After a successful decade in The Six, fashion emporium Jonathan+Olivia has shuttered its Toronto store and swished on over to Whistler, where a boutique housed in side-by-side spots—a flagship shop stocked with street-style and après-ski items and a second space focusing on luxury ready-to-wear fashions for women and men, plus handbags, footwear and lifestyle products—will serve resort locals and visitors alike.
Among the much-sought-after designer brands included in the carefully curated (by owners Jackie O’ Brien-Jones and Nic Jones) mix: Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang and Yohji Yamamoto. Our visit to this gorgeous boutique (gallery-like, with white walls, exposed pipes and polished cement floors) also yielded an avalanche of new arrivals for ski season (mountain-speak for fall/winter), with styles by James Perse, YEEZY Calabasas, Arc’Teryx Veilance and Maison Margiela. Runway to ski run, indeed!

Since winter is about to begin and we’re bundling up, I was so happy to find the perfect snow leopard print faux fur. It’s such a fun trend forward piece, not to mention warm and cozy! I looked at so many of these types of coats before finding mine at Dynamite. It’s a tough piece to buy online as you really need to feel the fabric – this one is currently on sale and I can ensure you, it’s super soft. Paired here with a sleeveless white ribbed knit tunic, black denim cigarette pants, and white boots, I’m ready to embrace the cold.
We’ll be putting up our tree this weekend and finalizing our Holiday plans. I’m so ready to blast Christmas music! What are you excited to celebrate this season?
