Summer is around the corner, and getting healthy is on a lot of our minds. I wouldn’t usually do a cleanse, but when local juicery Krokodile Pear approached me about their system, I was intrigued. Mainly because it includes food!
Krokodile Pear has partnered with one of my favourite food trucks Culver City Salads to create a nutritious three day cleanse to help kick start healthy eating habits. Each day you have 2 cold pressed juices, 1 green smoothie, 1 nut milk, and 2 vegan salads. Cee from Coco & Vera and I decided to try it out together (You can see out what Cee thought of the cleanse here)
The Salads by Culver City Salads
The salads were delicious! As a vegetarian, I’m all about plant based goodness and this is exactly what Culver City Salads founder, Christina Culver and her team create. Everything is locally sourced, made with whole ingredients, by hand. Each salad was packed with so many delicious veggies along with a guilt-free dressing made with tahini (both flavours were really yummy.) You can find Culver City Salad’s awesome food truck (named Granny Smith!) around Vancouver. See their website for locations.
The Juice by Krokodile Pear
The first juice, Kicking Horse (Apple, Lemon, Ginger, Cayenne Pepper, Water) is mostly what you would think a cleanse juice would taste like. The lemony juice was very refreshing first thing in the morning. Next you have the green juice. I have a green juice every morning, and it always gives me so much energy. I loved Krokodile Pear’s version, Westwood. It literally has every good green veggie included! Kale, Parsley, Romaine, Celery, Cucumber, Apple, Pineapple, Lemon Juices blended with Avocado, Banana, Mint, and Spinach.
The nut milk, The Chief is kind of like dessert juice. It contains Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Raw Vanilla, Maple Syrup, and Himalayan Pink Salt. It’s a bit higher in calories, but packed full of healthy fats and protein. The last juice is black, and is surprisingly delicious. It tastes like lemonade, without the added sugar. Blackcomb contains activated Charcoal, that absorbs toxins from the body and pulls them out of the system. If want to try a juice before committing to the cleanse, this would be the perfect one to try out.
My thoughts on this cleanse
This cleanse is packed full of incredible vitamins, so even if you don’t stick to the cleanse perfectly, you’re still giving your body so many incredible nutrients. It’s perfect for someone who’s on the go, and wants to kick start healthy eating patterns. It’s really easy to follow and it won’t leave you feeling hungry!
