The End of an Era: WWD & Style.com

Big changes have been announced for two of our favourite fashion news sources. Women’s Wear Daily published their last-ever daily newspaper edition on Friday. The paper will now be published weekly to focus more on their digital version. Yesterday, STYLE.COM announced it would transition into an e-commerce website this fall. MTI5NzA3NDU1ODcyNTYxMTIyWomen’s Wear Daily
Last month, the 105 year old fashion & apparel newspaper announced that it would be reducing its print frequency from daily to weekly and investing more of its resources into the web, where it will start publishing articles 24/7. A daily PDF edition will also be available for subscribers, as it is now.

Condé Nast revealed in November that the leadership team at Style.com would begin reporting to the executive team at Vogue. It was only a matter of time before a restructuring would take place. Last month Condé Nast also announced that Style.com and Vogue.com would share the 29th floor of One World Trade Center. Yesterday the plans for a new global e-commerce site were announced.
This fall, Style.com will become a new global e-commerce destination. At that time, our comprehensive fashion and runway coverage and much more will move to a newly expanded fashion shows channel of Vogue.com, to be found at Voguerunway.com. Until then, keep coming to Style.com for our daily fashion show coverage, industry news, parties, street style, and more (via style.com)
