The London Look

St James Lyndi 1After wrapping up London Fashion Week, I was so happy to have a few days off in the city. It’s always a treat to have time in London. I was excited to see dear friends, visit my favourite places and discover new gems. A few days later, Cindy from The Vancouverite joined me for the weekend, before we took on Paris and all the excitement of Fashion Week.

I love this city, so I couldn’t wait to show Cindy all the best spots on my London List. It was a crisp and sunny afternoon when Cindy arrived, so we wrapped ourselves up in our cozy Lorem Ipsum coats and heading out to explore. First stop, St James Park before heading to Tower Bridge, Borough Market and the beautiful South Bank area.

While deciding what to wear on our fashion week trip, Cindy and I really wanted to support local brands. One of the companies we were excited to collaborate with is the newly launched coat company, Studio Lorem Ipsum. This dark green cashmere wrap coat felt very British, which is not surprising as Jessica, the designer, studied at Central Saint Martins. The brand focuses on creating classic cashmere coats with beautiful craftsmanship, using premium quality materials.

I’ve been making a conscientious effort to build my wardrobe with pieces that I love and will wear season after season. This trip was a great opportunity to work on my capsule collection of clothing. My uniform most days around the city consisted of this classic cashmere coat, Oxford & Kin sunnies (another fantastic Vancouver brand) Mavi jeans and my trusty Franco Sarto boots. There is so much walking when you’re in a city like London, you want to be dressed for comfortable, and style. This can sometimes be a challenge but good quality pieces can make all the difference.

On all my trips to London, I’d never actually walked across the iconic Tower Bridge. It’s now one of my favourite view points in the city. On one side is The Tower of London site, and you can walk over the bridge into South Bank. Once you arrive on the other side you will have a spectacular view of this Fairytale bridge.

We had such a wonderful time on this trip to London.  It’s a city that can be very overwhelming, but with a little bit of planning, and a cute outfit, you’re sure to have memorable time.
