The Marina District is an area in San Francisco you might not visit if you’re only in the city for a few days, which would be a mistake. It was by far my favourite neighbourhood. The houses are perfectly manicured, the Palace of Fine Arts is exquisite, and the beach near by has an iconic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I had so much fun exploring, seeing the sights, taking photos and soaking up the California sunshine.
One of the things you must see in the Marina District is The Palace of Fine Arts. It was first built in 1915 for the Panama Pacific Expo, and still stands today. The enormous structure has delicate details which make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. After wandering around, we made our way to the donut hut Dynamo Donuts. Located just before the beach is the little white hut, only open Friday to Sunday, serving delicious coffee and a selection of donuts. Thanks to our friends who live in this area for this tip, because you would definitely miss this gem if you didn’t know about it. Sitting on the beach with a coffee and donut in hand was a very happy moment.Summer has arrived and we have just landed in Toronto for three weeks. We’re in the city for a few days to take some meetings and catch up with friends. This weekend is Canada Day so we’re heading lakeside for a getaway. We’re taking the opportunity to have some proper downtime, enjoy the sunshine and recharge. Southern Ontario is such a beautiful place and I can not wait to be back.
