Travel Beauty: What I used in Europe

Europe Beauty 14Whenever I travel, narrowing down what beauty products I bring is tricky. I’m a girl who loves to use lots of items, but when you’re on the road you should only bring the essentials, or at least try to! I really paired down what I brought to Europe, and I’m so glad I did. The more I travel, the more I’ve realize how little you actually need. Less is more, but you don’t want to miss any steps in your routine. I’ve rounded up the items that made the cut for our 3 week Europe adventure, along with my beauty travel tips.

Europe Beauty 7Lyndi’s Travel Tip: Double check each product in your carry on to ensure it’s under 100ml. It would suck to loose your favourite fragrance or lotion because it’s over the limit!

Taking off your make up before a flight is a must. I actually never wear make up on a flight. Why bother? Once boarded, I always use a cleansing towlette. I like Garnier Skin Active Wipes because they’re infused with Micellar Oil that dissolves makeup, and leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed.
Europe Beauty 12FACE MASKS
A moisture enriched mask like the Garnier Moisture Bomb is exactly what you need after a long flight. It takes up little to no space in your beauty bag and feels like a skin treat. It deeply hydrates, which your skin will thank you for after all that air travel! You could even do this on the plane to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling your best.

Europe Beauty 13Lyndi’s Travel Tip: Ask your local beauty counter if they have travel size of your favourite products, or if they can give you a sample. You will be surprised how many brands do this now.

This is a favourite product amongst make-up artists and french pharmacy enthusiasts. Vogue lists it as the holy grail of products too, so you know it must be a goodie! Bioderma Sensibio H2O is a gentle cleansing water made up of cleansing micelle particles suspended in soft water, that draw impurities from the skin.

You don’t have to wash off this make up remover. Its actually good for your skin which makes it so easy to use. It’s ideal to remove any waterproof or stubborn make up but still gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Europe Beauty 17CLEANSING MILK
I tried this 4 in 1 product from Jouviance just before we departed. Mainly because it had the airplane icon on the bottle, so I knew it was travel safe!  You don’t want to have fussy skincare on Holiday and this gentle, soap-free formula micro-emulsifies impurities and preps your skin for better absorption of serums and moisturizers. You only needed to use a small amount, and the bottle held more than enough product for Jonathon and I both to use it during our 3 week trip.Europe Beauty 11Lyndi’s Travel Tip: Don’t want to wear too much makeup on your trip? Get eyelash extensions! This was one of the best things I did before we departed. It instantly makes you look more awake, and will cut your make up time (and the products you need) in half. I had a great experience at Noir Lash Lounge and my lashes lasted a full 4 weeks.

I was so happy to receive a travel size Pixi Glow Tonic, as it’s in my regular skincare routine. It’s a highly concentrated facial toner that deeply cleans pores by sweeping away excess oil and impurities. It leaves my skin literally glowing, and is ideal for sensitive skin.La Prairie SkincareMOISTURIZER
If there’s one product I can’t live without, it’s a good moisturizer. If you buy high end skincare, you know that La Prairie is the creme de la creme! Their Line Interception Power Duo is one of my favourite luxury moisturizers, and bonus thats it’s carry on travel size. It has a Day and Night cream in two separate dispenses, both formulas to fight three types of wrinkles. The light formula makes my skin feel soft and nourished.
Europe Beauty 15Lyndi’s Travel Tip: Don’t be alarmed if your hair feels extra dry after you wash it in Europe. The water is filled with minerals, known as hard water. This can be rough on your hair and make it feel very dry. A hair oil like Kerastase will give your hair that extra moisture it surely will be craving!

This is what I struggled with the most when packing for Europe. What can I bring to do my hair that is carry on friendly?

You always want to have good hair days when you’re traveling, but you can’t bring your full size products with you. Solution? A travel kit! These small sizes of my favourite shampoos and conditioners from Kerastase was ideal. It’s worth it to purchase the travel kit for a trip. It allowed me to bring a small size hair mask product too for a deep condition after washing my hair in Paris.

I LOVE Kerastase hair oil, and decanted a small amount to bring with me. I took this in my purse, which was ideal for touch ups throughout the day. The hard water in Europe was something I was not used to so I was very happy I brought along the full hair kit!Europe Beauty 16Lyndi’s Travel Tip: Traveling with a partner? Are there any products you can both use? Why bring two face washes if you both can use one. Save the space where ever you can!

Since becoming a beauty blogger, I’ve definitely helped Jonathon discover a few of his own favourite skincare product. The 3 key products he used were a serum, moisturizer and eye cream (we shared the cleansing milk )

A serum is ideal for rehydrating while traveling. This one by Jack Black gives you that extra moisture boast needed after a flight. Nivea Mens Sensitive Skin Moisture cream is fragrance free and not fussy. It’s absorbed quickly by the skin and is enriched with Chamomile and Vitamin E.

Finally, this Origins GinZing Eye Cream is a product we both used and loved. It’s a morning-after eye cream that instantly reduces dark circles. It’s formulated with Coffee Beans, Panax Ginseng, Magnolia Extract and natural optic brighteners. Perfect to ensure you look good in all your travel photos!Europe Beauty 16
