A few weeks ago, we traveled to beautiful Jasper to celebrate our friends wedding. Located in Jasper National Park, nestled in the snowcapped Rocky Mountains, this Alpine town is a wonderful place to visit. It reminded me so much of Stars Hollows in Gilmore Girls. Quaint, lovely and everything no more than a few blocks away.
We stayed at the Whistler’s Inn right in the centre of town. Cozy, comfortable with two hot tubs on the roof overlooking the mountains. This darling hotel couldn’t have been more convenient. If you’re looking for a more luxurious locale, the Fairmont Jasper is spectacular. We took a drive to view the ground that are just outside the main town. The log cabins are so cozy over looking the lake. Even if you’re not staying at the resort, a walk along the water to take in the views (and hopefuly some wildlife) is a must. We saw deer, elk, and even a bear! It was amazing to see so many animals in their natural habitat.
Thanks to snapchat, The Patricia Street Deli was recommended to us for lunch. It was SO delicious, we went twice! This hole in the wall cafe makes the most delicious made to order sandwiches and homemade soup. With freshly baked bread and a variety of yummy toppings, this is the perfect place to grab a quick bite before veturing out.
For dinner, we went to Famoso Neapolita Pizzeria where they create pizza just as they do in Naples. Using authetic ingredience, the pizza has a soft and crispy thin crust with home made sauces. We had such a fantastic time at this restaurant. Great service, awesome pizza along with a wonderful atmostphere.
Believe it or not, the Laudromat’s cafe, SnowDome has some of the best espresso in the town! A local favourite, this is one of those hidden gems you wouldn’t usually visit unless you knew how great the coffee is.
There are some lovely stores along Connaught Drive. Grab a coffee and wander through the various boutiques and souvenir shops. You’re bound to find something that needs to come home with you!
We took these photos at Patricia and Pyramid Lake. Located 10 minutes up the road from the town, these two lakes are absolute gems. A beautiful place to go for a walk and take in the views. The icy lake and snowcapped spruce trees create the most magical sight.
