The fashion industry’s top models from South Sudan and Canada are coming together for an evening of fashion and philanthropy. On Tuesday, 10 May the Obakki Foundation is partnering with Holt Renfrew’s H Project for the Walk for Water Benefit.
Obakki isn’t just a fashion company. The Obakki Foundation, Obakki’s philanthropic counterpart, is a registered charity that focuses on providing clean water and education in Africa. As a South African, this initiative is close to my heart. To date, Obakki has drilled over 810 water wells in the South Sudan and built twelve schools in Cameroon.
To support the cause and help spread the word about tickets for the benefit, Cee from Coco & Vera and I visited Obakki’s studio in Gastown. We are both fans of the fashion brand, and it was a treat to see behind the scenes of their beautiful design studio. We shot these photos on their roof top wearing dressing from the Obakki collection. (More photos from inside their studio coming later this week!)
