As we begin the New Year, so many of us are making resolutions. For me, I’m looking at the months ahead, but also reflecting on the past year’s achievements. Our trip to Europe was a big highlight, and I smile every time I think about it. Our time in London, Prague and Paris was filled with so many happy memories, from attending my first European fashion weeks to spending time with dear friends and family.
The day we spent in Notting Hill in London wandering down Portobello Road was pretty magical, not to mention Instagram heaven! If you are ever able to visited this charming neighbourhood, here are a few of my favourite spots not to miss.Best Location for Photos – Hillgate Place
If you’re thinking, ‘which street has all the pastel houses?!’ The answer is, almost every one of them! The colourful flats are abundant. Pick a street to walk down, and before you know it, you’ll be walking in wonderland. Cute coffee shops, vintage stores and darling details are everywhere. We had so much fun exploring this neighbourhood. I’d recommend starting near Hillgate and Farm Place, and making your way down to Portobello Road. You’ll spot the Pinterest Favourite pink house on Chepstow Villas and lots more of brightly coloured homes in Portobello Mews.
Place For Coffee – Farm Girl
On a quaint and quieter part of Portobello Road, you’ll find Farm Girl. They serve delicious coffee and health conscious eats like acai bowls and avocado toast. Farm Girl has become an instagram famous spot because of their adorable coffee cups and pretty food presentation. It’s worth stopping by, even if to grab a cute pink to go coffee.Street Market – Portebello Road
Located in the heart of Notting Hill is Portobello Road. On Saturdays it is home to the Portobello Road Market, one of London’s notable street markets, famous for vintage clothes and antiques. There are all sorts of things to find here, including unique souvenirs. The street market changes depending on the day of the week, so be sure to check online which market you want to experience.
Vintage Jewelry Store – Hirst Antiques
Hirst Antiques is a tiny store located at the top of Portobello at Pembridge Road. It specializing in designer costume jewelry and is filled with sparkling treasures. Think Chanel, Dior, Chanel, Schiaparelli and Kenneth Jay Lane. A glittery feast for the eyes!
Pub – The Earl of Lonsdale
One of the best parts of British culture are the pubs. Everyone has their favourite neighbourhood Local. The Earl of Lonsdale located at the end of Portobello Road has been restored into a Victorian-style pub. There are five small ‘drinking rooms’ divided by wood & glass screens, where you have to duck under the wooden screens to get into each room. These rooms were originally created for privacy while drinking. This was a really cool experience, and a perfect place to enjoy a pint while taking a break from wandering around Notting Hill.
