There is a lot to Love about London. It’s one of my favourite places to visit and we definitely made the most of our time in the city. We caught up with friends and family members, attended London Fashion Week, and ate and drank at so many delightful spots. Now that I’ve (finally!) recovered from jet lag, I’m excited to share stories and photos from our London Adventure. On our first day in the city, we decided to go straight to Central London to see the sights. Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace; we saw all the touristy things. Granted, there is so much more to see and do than the typical tourist things, but this was a really fun way to kick off our Holiday.
London is a really big city, and locals will tell you to factor in an hour for transit for most destinations. These landmarks are all quite close together, so you can easily walk to all of them. The photo opportunities are endless, and if you go early enough, you can get some wonderful photos, without too many people in them.
As we walked to the tube station in the morning with our friends who live in London, I felt like I fit right in with the city style. I wanted a classic and practical look for the day, as I knew we would be walking a lot. I paired my favourite dark grey Mavi jeans, with a black blazer from Zara and a simple white tee. These Sam Edelman boots were super comfy, but I must admit, the thin soles were not cut out for walking on the pavements of Europe. The streets are often cobbled and not always level, which is really hard on your feet. An insole worked wonders to make these boots work for 20km days!
Telling you all on instagram stories that the crowds at Buckingham Palace are crazy!
You might be wondering about the scaffolding around Big Ben – he’s receiving maintenance until 2021. Luckily for us, they have just started so it’s still relatively low. I’m still glad I read about this before arriving so I wasn’t too disappointed. As I go through our images from this trip, I’m be reminded about how many wonderful moments we experienced. From London and Paris Fashion Week, to visiting beautiful Prague, to all the delicious croissants we ate in Paris; I learned so much from this trip, and can’t wait to share my tips to make your European adventure just as magical.
