Winter Spring Break

Snow shoe mainWe had one last winter getaway to Whistler this weekend. Even though I’m eagerly awaiting Spring, it was really fun to have one last snowy escape. The mountain conditions are still fantastic, which is perfect for all the Spring breakers. Since our younger cousins were on Holiday, we had family visiting from both my side and Jonathon’s. We were so happy to take them snow shoe in the Callaghan Valley during their stay as this is of our favourite things to do in the winter. Check out the photos below and you’ll easily see why!

With over 7000 hectares and 130kms of Nordic trails, the Callaghan is the best destination for snowshoeing and ski touring. This is one of those things in Whistler most tourists don’t know about. The mountain is such a big draw, but when you’re in Whistler for a week, you need a day off from skiing or snowboarding. It’s still a workout, but it’s a much more relaxed way to be on the mountain. Not a snow boarder? Even better! A hike through the Callaghan Valley is a beautiful way to experience the beautiful vistas. One of the best parts about any mountain adventure is Après ski, or in this case Après shoe! A tradition that really completes the winter experience.
